I've spent 20+ years working in the nonprofit sector, specializing in career advancement, professional leadership, and community development. As the Director of Career Development and Alumni Services at George Washington University’s Trachtenberg School and founder of CareerHappinessCoaching.com, I love helping professionals find career happiness by applying a strength-based, positive psychology framework. My expertise includes career advancement/transitions, resume/cover letter preparation, LinkedIn, mock interviews, strategic networking and compensation negotiation.

Education/Certifications: Accelerated Strengths Coaching Course, Gallup Strength Center; Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology, Flourishing Center; Career Development Facilitator Training, National Career Development Association, Global Career Development Facilitator, Center for Credentialing and Education; Federal Job Search Trainer & Federal Career Coach, The Resume Place; MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory, GS Consultants.

Favorite Part About My Job: Inspiring people to see their potential and giving them tools and hope to make that happen!

Steadfast Do's and Don'ts: Do listen to your gut; Do takes calculated risks; Do find a Board of Advisors; Don't give up when the going gets rough as rough waters often take us to new places; Don't allow comparison to others steal you of your joy; Don't ever give up on yourself

Most important qualities of a good leader: Understanding that people are different, and that is a gift; build your team with as many different gifts as possible and then give them the space to shine.

My Advice for women starting their careers: Understand that it's a jungle gym, not a ladder. There will be slides and swings and shaky bridges. There will be ups and downs. But if you maintain a playful spirit and belief in your potential, you will find your way.

Advice I wish I'd had (or had followed): Don't "should" all over yourself. Trust what lights you up, and build a career around that because you can make good money by following what makes you come alive.

Quote I live By: “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
