Superpowers. All women have them; we just forget about them sometimes when real life becomes Kryptonite diminishing our strengths. Every woman has that “cry in the bathroom” moment when even the promise of the weekend doesn’t improve the outlook. It is at those very moments when a woman must remind herself that everything she does matters in some way and that every dream is worth dreaming even if only for the sheer joy in the imagining. We consulted a list of known Superhero Superpowers to see what women possess but forget to harness.

You might not actually be able to move a mountain, but you can improve the world. Remember the time that you made that big deal come together at work or the time when you found the perfect dress for your daughter for prom in the eleventh hour or the day you used paper towels to make coffee when the coffee filters ran out at the office and, thus, avoided a mutiny? Yep. Superpowers. You changed the world and didn’t even get a parade. But you changed it nonetheless.
Self-Confidence

You can do this. Whatever challenge comes your way, whatever position they offer you at work, you have the self-confidence to know that you can handle anything. You do not need to know every detail. Take the position in Paris even if you don’t speak French and have never left the country. You’re a smart cookie. You got this…whatever this is.
Dream Weaver

The power to weave your dreams into reality starts and ends with you. Understandably, there are times when building your dreams might hinge upon helping someone else build theirs. You might need to gain valuable skills or experience or amass capital. However, at any given point, you should be building your dream in the process.
Detachable Limbs

Give someone else a hand. Offer your superpowers to the girl in the office who just started and doesn’t understand the office culture yet. Volunteer at a soup kitchen to remind yourself how fortunate you are while you are doing something great to help in your community. Give your partner a night off when it looks like he or she is overwhelmed the day after quarterly reports were due. The gratification of helping others goes a long way to soothing one’s own soul.
Cosmic Vision

You can see your goal far off in the distance. It is so far away, now, that it could be in another galaxy? No problem. Your goals should never be only the low-hanging fruit. Set your goals so that they are difficult to attain but not impossible. Set goals that you can see scattered about the galaxy of your life, some nearer, some farther.
Chi

The ability to harness your Chi, your internal energy, and channel it to an outer result is perhaps one of the greatest superpowers a woman can have. Anyone can busily expend energy. The superpower lies in channeling it to the correct things on the “to do” list. Be purposeful. Control the the flow of your powers to the areas that best serve you.
Energy Conversion
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Don’t complain.” –Maya Angelou
If the energy you expend does not give you the desired results. Change what is not working. If you cannot change it, convert the negative energy to positive energy by changing your attitude toward the situation. If you cannot fire the least productive person in your department because he is the boss’ nephew, then try to teach him ways to be more productive. Your department will grow and so will your capacity to see the glass half-full.
Telepathy

Make others value you without saying a word. Charge others for your time and talents based on their real value. When you mentally place a value on what you will offer to others, you elevate your own worth in your eyes and everyone else’s. This might mean charging for your ability to write a resume for a friend, or it could mean trading out favors with your kids such as you proofread the term paper while the child vacuums the house. Send others the message that you are valuable.

Faith is a superpower. Faith that you have what it takes, no matter what; will get you through the worst days. Every woman has superpowers, and usually, she has more than she realizes she possesses. Try this trick. List your superpowers in a sheet of paper. You can start with this list, but add to it. Make up your own. If your superpower today is Scrubbing Bubbles Queen as you melt away months of dirt in your kids’ bathroom, own it. If you don’t acknowledge your superpowers, it’s likely that no one else will either.
