Do Something Different This Year to Recognize Valentine’s Day While at Work
Check out the list below of fun ways to celebrate the holiday in the office.
Dress for the season. Encourage employees to celebrate in their outfits with heart shapes. Try a red pencil skirt or a blouse with hearts, and maybe gentlemen will sport a tie with hearts. It’s Friday, so keep it fun and casual.
Give Small Acts of Kindness. Did you know that February 10-16 is International Random Acts of Kindness Week? Pay it forward and buy coffee or lunch for a peer. Tape change for a soda or a snack to the vending machine. Leave sweet, anonymous messages in the break room.
Send Valentines. Take it back to your elementary years and create some cards for everyone in the office. Make sure not to exclude anyone! There’s a TON of cute printable cards online you can download and give to your coworkers.
Throw a potluck lunch. Have everyone sign up throughout the week for simple dishes to bring for the big day. Make it into a contest with a prize for the most creative Valentine-related dish. (Heart shaped cookies, pizza, veggie platters, etc.) Winner receives a dozen chocolate covered strawberries.
Will you be my Volunteer? Schedule a company volunteer group event that supports a local nonprofit or have everyone in office reach out to those in need by throwing a cupid-themed fundraiser. You could even have your own happy hour after work and donate the proceeds to your favorite charity!
Hopefully this list of ideas will prompt you to come up with something fun of your own for your office. There’s no better time than Valentine’s Day to show your employees how much you really care.
