Spring Inspired Make-Up Colors to Wear to Work
During the spring time all colors in the fashion world seem to shift to brighter more playful looking hues. Make-up looks either get softer and more feminine with loud colored lips, or become darker and smoky with nude lips. While the trends are fashion forward, it can sometimes become tricky to decide whether or not to wear the latest and greatest make-up colors into the office. Most of the time neutral colors in the office are always the best option, but some spring colors can be worn in moderation:
1. Magenta or Fuchsia Lips- Magenta and fuchsia are THE ultimate spring time lip color. These colors can help to give you a bold yet girly look, and can be worn with most of your spring time wardrobe. Just make sure to keep your eye make-up very simple if you are going to be wearing a bold lip so you don’t go into make-up overload. (Revlon Super Lustrous Lipcolor in Fuchsia Fusion)
2. Nude Eyes with Fine Lines- This make-up style was exhibited many times on the run way, along with the well known smoky eye look. Wear a matte and neutral colored eyeshadow to start off this look with a blank canvas, then add a fine line of black eyeliner to your top lash line. To achieve this look, you do not have to follow your entire lash line from corner to corner. Liquid eyeliner is the easiest to use for very fine lines that get as close to your lash line as possible. 3. Rosy Pinks- A lighter colored trend is a rosy pink lips and blush combo that can instantly make you feel youthful and feminine. Rosy cheeks can make your look seem refreshed when you apply it to the apples of your cheeks. Also, a pink lip gloss can polish up your look in no time. The only hard part about this look is finding the right pink! If you have fair skin tones, try to go for blue-based pinks like ballerina pink. If you have medium skin tones a warm rose petal pink is perfect, and for darker skin tones try berry pinks. Your eyeshadow can be worn in nude colors, or for a more classic look wear dark grey. 4. Coral Blush and Lips- Coral make-up on dewey looking skin is beautiful during the warmer weather. Coral blush can give you a healthy looking glow, while coral lips bring all of the attention to your face. It is important to try and go for a more pink colored coral, instead of bright orange when wearing it to the office. To get dewey looking skin just highlight your cheek bones, jawline, and the tops of your eyebrows with a very light shimmery powder. 5. Lavender Eyes and Lips- This look is one of the more fashion forward looks, but it can be worn to the office if you keep it light. Purple eyeshadow highlights just about every eye color, and purple lips are most certainly an attention grabber. Just keep the purple a lavender color and do not layer it on heavily. Light iridescent colors are great for your eyeshadow and can be worn with simple black eyeliner. Keep your lips purple tinted with a light lipgloss that will shimmer in the light.
