Light & Functional Luggage
Frequent travelers are passionate about their carry-on luggage. From the brand they use to whether it has a soft or hard shell, so gifting a professional traveler new carry-on luggage can be tricky, but if done correctly, it can make for a great gift. First, try to find out how long they’ve had their carry-on luggage. If it’s been more than five years, then it’s definitely time for something new. Next, find out what brand they currently use. The most common brands for travel professionals are Travelpro (notoriously used by pilots and flight attendants), Samsonite (one of the oldest luggage brands), Tumi (modern, fashion forward luggage), Briggs & Riley (premium luggage). It’s also good to know if they travel mostly in the United States or if international travel (Europe and Asia) is expected, as the size requirements for carry-on luggage in Europe and Asia for country-to-country travel is different than within the United States. The most common size for a carry-on is 22 x 14 x 9 for all major International Airlines, but some smaller airlines requirement 21” not 22”, so understanding travel destinations is important. Lastly, color is of the utmost importance. Some prefer a classic black bag, while others might prefer a blue or red, so it’s easier to spot in the overhead. Here are a few of our favorites: Samsonite 21” Spinner, Samsonite 21”Hardside Spinner,Travel Pro Maxlight 22” Spinner (also available in 21” International and a hardside option), Tumi 22” Front Lid Carry-on,Tumi Tegra-Lite Carry-on.

If you have a friend or family member who travels frequently for work, but worries about leaving their pet alone, consider giving them a gift help set their mind at ease for their pet while they’re away. Care.com, notoriously known for childcare services offering experts and reviews, has expanded into all realms of care and offers a list of experts for dog walking and pet sitting. But if choosing a pet sitter or dog walker for someone else is a bit too personal, a similar website to care.com, but only caters to dog services and offers gift cards is, rover.com. They offer gift cards in $25 increments, so you can choose to give them a gift card for $25 up to $250. And we’ve heard you can probably find someone to check in on your feline friend (and other pets) on their app as well, though it’s not directly promoted on their homepage.
Entertainment on the Go
With electronics, gadgets, and digital services getting better and better each year (or even each month), most frequent travelers won’t leave home without their supersized smart phone or a trusty tablet loaded with their favorite digital books, movies, music, games, etc. So, if your frequent traveler loves to read, think twice before getting them the latest hardcover book. Most likely they prefer to use the Kindle app (or a different e-reader app) for their reading list. Find out what type of device they use for their Entertainment on the go and purchase them some digital versions through iTunes, Kindle, and Audible to name a few.
