5 Ways With One Dress To Warm Up Your Spring Wardrobe
I can’t think of a better way to cheer up your spring and summer than with a little white dress.
When this time of year rolls around, it’s time to consider embellishing your wardrobe with something bright, something clean and something white – so why not start with a dress? From bright white, to off-white, to ivory to cream to champagne, there is a perfect dress out there to lighten your mood from winter gloom.
With the idea that you don’t have to wait for winter to be over to think spring, try shopping online for your favorite style of a little white dress. After all, whether you are snowed-in or not, hunting for your brightly-spirited shade of white could be all you need to endure the last of the cold.
Now that we have the perfect light-hued dress, what do we do with it? For starters, how about going bold with all gold? Of course, any metallic color you love will go with your new LWD, but gold says: “Go bold, or go home”, and you may need that dauntless nerve to kick the cold-weather blues away. And white and gold is always a classy combination that makes an elegant statement.
1. Gold Accessories: So think gold accessories — such as this distinctive gold cuff, a gold shoe, or even gold nail polish and eyeshadow:
2. Blues: Or, if gold is not a color you want for spring, why not try a bright turquoise or radiant cobalt blue on display all over this 2015 season? Or pick any color that you love to accessorize with, and go with a necklace or bag in that color: how about this beautiful turquoise necklace from Kenneth Jay Lane? Or this delightful Rebecca Minkoff bag?
3. Scarves: Next, what about scarves? Now is the time – when you have the blank palette of a white or cream-colored dress — to pull out every scarf that you love, but haven’t had anything to wear with it. Does it look brighter than it did previously? Chances are yes — you are pairing it with white, giving it the opportunity to be the star!
4. Jean Jacket: So little else will be necessary for your little white dress unless you want to take it into the evening or the weekend. Try pairing your dress with a jean jacket for Saturday’s company picnic or date night at the movies.
5. Flats or Sandals: Down the line, you can also make your dress summer-ready by pairing it with your favorite gladiator sandals or flats. Just prepping the look of this should give you all the energy you need to get thru the last of the chill and blahs of the winter season and ready for what is right around the corner : heat and fun!
